One Fine Day

No relation to his more famous namesake, ANDRE CAMILLERI does have the same Maltese roots. Now living in Melbourne, the singer/songwriter has brought together a fine group of musicians to form The BROKEN HEARTS, playing country music tinted both blue and black. Andre writes music that is mostly sad, dry and embittered, with topics range from broken hearts to broken minds – and quite a few references to narcotic substances. Sad Old Clown is a standout track, with a swingy beat and a catchy melody. Electric Guitar (JAMES STEWART) and Steel Guitar (BRENDAN MITCHELL) blend and weave around each track in perfect camaraderie. The whole sound is one of astute and excellent musicianship. One Fine Day is a track of hope for a better future. Broken Heart (the track, not the band) is pure country love and loss. If you like sad disillusioned smoke-filled barroom country blues you will enjoy this album very much indeed.
